Belarusian Foreign Minister Makes Official Visit to Uzbekistan

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov is on an official visit to Uzbekistan, which will continue until 15 June, according to the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Maksim Ryzhenkov is set to hold talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, The Caspian Post reports citing BelTA.

The parties plan to discuss political dialogue, trade and economic relations, joint initiatives, and cooperation in the humanitarian area.

The visit program includes a trip to one of Uzbekistan's regions, where meetings with local authorities and business representatives will take place. The parties are expected to exchange views on interregional and practical cooperation.

Maksim Ryzhenkov will also tour one of Uzbekistan's key logistics hubs, where he will examine the infrastructure capabilities and prospects for cooperation in transport and distribution.

The minister is set to meet with the director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. During the meeting, the parties will touch upon strengthening regional security and countering terrorism.

"The visit is aimed at furthering friendly relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan and giving new momentum to bilateral cooperation," the press service emphasized.
