A 31-year-old man has died in hospital in Uzbekistan after being severely beaten and abducted by relatives during a financial dispute.
The incident took place in the “Bogishamol” neighborhood of Denau district in the Surxondaryo Region. According to law enforcement, a long-standing monetary conflict between family members escalated into a violent confrontation, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Investigators say a 36-year-old man and three associates attacked a 55-year-old man and his 31-year-old son, inflicting serious injuries. The victims were then forcibly taken away in a Chevrolet Gentra vehicle.
The following day, the younger victim died in a district hospital due to the severity of his injuries. The police department has opened a criminal case under Article 104, Part 2 of the Uzbek Criminal Code, which covers grievous bodily harm resulting in death.
All four suspects have been detained and placed in custody as the investigation continues.
Officials also noted a separate recent case in the Andijan Region, where a man reported being abducted and beaten in an unfinished building by acquaintances, highlighting growing concerns over violent disputes in domestic and social settings.
