France is set to support Uzbekistan in boosting its tourism sector, officials confirmed following a high-level meeting between tourism authorities.
Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, met with Walid Fouque, France’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, to discuss current cooperation and future opportunities in the tourism industry, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Key topics included Uzbekistan’s participation as a partner country at the international tourism fair IFTM Top Resa 2026 in Paris (September 15-17) and strategies to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential across European markets, particularly in France.
The discussions also covered the development of mountain regions, creation of modern ski resorts, and promotion of winter tourism, alongside France’s expertise in managing tourist destinations. The partnership aims to strengthen Uzbekistan’s position as an emerging travel destination while leveraging French know-how in sustainable and high-quality tourism development.
