A wave of food poisoning has struck several kindergartens in Fergana, Uzbekistan, leaving dozens of children hospitalized with symptoms including fever, stomach pain, weakness, and nausea.
The children from Kindergartens No. 2, No. 58, and No. 61 were admitted to the Fergana Infectious Diseases Hospital. Currently, 62 children are receiving treatment, and their condition is reported as stable, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Authorities have launched inspections of the kindergartens’ cafeterias and their food suppliers. Samples of meals are being collected for laboratory testing to determine the cause of the outbreak. Officials emphasize ongoing safety checks to prevent further cases.
