New details are emerging in one of the most shocking criminal investigations in recent months in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Turkish media outlets report that alongside Durdona Khakimova, another citizen of Uzbekistan - 32-year-old Sayyora Ergashealieva - was killed and dismembered in a rented apartment in the Umraniye district, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
According to reports, police investigating the murder of Khakimova discovered evidence suggesting that a second woman had also been killed in the same apartment. Investigators believe Ergashealieva may have been murdered earlier and dismembered in a similar manner. She had been listed as missing since January 23.
CCTV Footage Reveals Key Timeline
Authorities re-examined surveillance footage from near the residence where the women lived with the suspects. Cameras reportedly captured the suspects leaving the apartment multiple times carrying black plastic bags on January 24. They were also seen removing a white suitcase, getting into a taxi, and traveling to the Sisli district, where the suitcase was later discarded in a garbage container.
Preliminary findings suggest that body parts of Durdona Khakimova were found inside that suitcase.
Investigators are working to establish the sequence of events. According to the current version of the investigation:
January 23: Sayyora Ergashealieva entered the apartment in Umraniye.
Shortly after, two male suspects entered the same residence.
January 24: The suspects were seen repeatedly exiting with black bags and later transporting a white suitcase to Sisli, where it was thrown away.
Confession Reported by Media
Local media outlets claim that after the discovery of additional evidence, the suspects were re-interrogated and confessed to killing Ergashealieva with a knife before dismembering her body and disposing of the remains in separate garbage containers.
However, these details are based on investigative sources cited by Turkish media and have not yet been officially confirmed by Turkish police or prosecutors.
Earlier Discovery in Sisli
On January 24, a decapitated body was discovered in a garbage container in the Ferikoy neighborhood of Sisli, Istanbul. Authorities later identified the victim as 37-year-old Uzbek citizen Durdona Khakimova.
Reports stated that the suspects - also Uzbek nationals - dismembered the body, placed it in a suitcase, and disposed of it. Other body parts were later found in a separate container.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul confirmed Khakimova’s identity. Two Uzbek citizens were detained while attempting to leave Türkiye for Georgia by plane.
