Japanese Education Strengthens Skills, Growth in Uzbekistan

The Alumni Club of Japanese Universities has held its ninth meeting at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador in Uzbekistan.

The event brought together professionals for whom Japan has been a key destination for education and career growth, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Japanese Ambassador Kenji Hirata highlighted Uzbekistan as a strategic partner and expressed hope that alumni experiences would contribute to the country’s economic and social development. He noted that Japan was among the first countries to establish educational cooperation with Uzbekistan after its independence, supporting programs such as MEXT, JDS, and JASSO, through which over 1,000 Uzbek students have studied in Japan.

The meeting featured presentations from alumni, including Oleg Ryzhichenko, Director of the U-ENTER Innovation Center, who shared insights from his visit to Osaka Expo 2025, and Nodirbek Yarashev, a Waseda University graduate and lawyer supporting Japanese businesses in Uzbekistan. Both emphasized how Japanese education fosters self-motivation, professional growth, and the ability to implement innovative practices in Uzbekistan.

With around 400 members, the Alumni Club continues inspiring collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the application of Japanese expertise to advance Uzbekistan’s development.
