Kazakhstan Emerges as a Leading Foreign Investor in Uzbekistan

The number of foreign-invested enterprises in Uzbekistan has increased 1.7-fold over the past five years.

As of 1 August 2026, 20,973 enterprises with foreign investment were operating in Uzbekistan, according to the country's National Statistics Committee, UzA reported.

Of these, 4,685 were joint ventures, and 16,288 were foreign enterprises.

China ranked first by the number of enterprises with foreign investment, with 6,241 companies, followed by Russia with 3,512 and Türkiye with 2,327.

Kazakhstan ranked fourth with 1,321 enterprises, while the Republic of Korea accounted for 730 and Afghanistan for 706.

Azerbaijan had 492 enterprises with foreign investment, Tajikistan 467, the United Arab Emirates 453, and India 439.
