Manama Hosts Uzbekistan–Bahrain Forum to Boost Cultural and Tourism Cooperation

The Uzbekistan-Bahrain International Tourism Forum was held in Bahrain’s capital Manama, bringing together key stakeholders from both countries to explore new avenues of cooperation in tourism and culture.

Organized by Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee with support from the country’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia (accredited to Bahrain), the forum aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and promote Uzbekistan’s growing tourism potential in the Gulf region, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The event gathered representatives of government agencies, major travel companies, airlines, chambers of commerce, and business leaders. Speeches were delivered by Umid Shadiev, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee; Nodirjon Turgunov, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain; and Fatima Jaafar Al-Sairafi, Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism.

The centerpiece of the forum was a presentation titled “Uzbekistan - The Pearl of the Silk Road,” which showcased the country’s UNESCO World Heritage sites and its offerings in pilgrimage, medical, gastronomic, and eco-tourism.

Special emphasis was placed on infrastructure development and tourism reforms initiated under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The forum included B2B and G2B meetings, encouraging direct business ties and dialogue on launching joint travel packages and organizing familiarization trips for Bahraini tour operators and media.

A photo exhibition, “New Uzbekistan,” was also organized to highlight the nation’s cultural richness, cuisine, and modern tourism assets.
