The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has wrapped up his official visit to Belgium.
During his stay in Brussels, the Head of State held productive meetings with the President of the European Council António Costa, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and King Philippe of the Belgians, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the signing ceremony of the historic Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union, which establishes a new and comprehensive legal framework for expanding and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in trade and investment.
The Leader of Uzbekistan also held a meeting with the heads of leading European companies and financial institutions, during which prospects for implementing new joint projects in priority areas were discussed.
During the visit, it was announced that bilateral negotiations between Uzbekistan and the European Union on Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization had been successfully concluded.
Following the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Tashkent.
