A section of the roof at Turon Metro Station in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, partially collapsed on July 16, temporarily disrupting train services and leaving two passengers with minor injuries.

The incident occurred at 2:34 p.m. (GMT+5). As a precaution, train operations through the elevated station were immediately suspended, The Caspian Post reports via Kursiv.

Officials said the two injured passengers received first aid at the scene, and no serious injuries were reported.

To minimize disruption, authorities launched a free shuttle bus service between the Qipchoq and Quruvchilar metro stations. Eight buses were deployed, operating at intervals of approximately three minutes.

The Tashkent city administration later clarified that the damage was limited to the station's decorative ceiling structure, rather than its main load-bearing components.

A special commission has been established to investigate the cause of the incident, while repair work is already underway. Emergency services and city officials remain at the site, keeping passengers informed about service changes and alternative transport options.
