Law enforcement authorities in Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent have uncovered an illegal drug laboratory organized by two students.

According to investigators, a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman had been producing prohibited substances in a rented apartment since September 2025. The pair reportedly acted under instructions received from remote coordinators via a messaging app, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The operation was exposed during a targeted police raid. Evidence collected at the scene is now being examined as part of a criminal investigation.

Authorities are working to identify the curators who directed the activity and to determine the scale of distribution.
