Tashkent Tops Central Asia in Global Safety Ranking

The Numbeo platform has released its ranking of the world’s safest cities based on 2025 data, placing Tashkent at the top among Central Asian cities.

In the global standings, the Uzbek capital ranked 21st worldwide, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kun.uz.

Two other cities from Central Asia also featured in the ranking. Astana secured 32nd place globally, while Almaty ranked 53rd.

The top 10 safest cities in the world according to the 2025 ranking are:

  2. Doha (Qatar)
  3. Dubai (United Arab Emirates)
  4. Taipei (Taiwan)
  5. Sharjah (United Arab Emirates)
  6. Manama (Bahrain)
  7. Muscat (Oman)
  8. Hong Kong (China)
  9. Chiang Mai (Thailand)
  10. Yerevan (Armenia)

Numbeo notes that the ranking is not based solely on crime rates. It also takes into account factors such as the availability and effectiveness of police services, overall public safety, and the quality of urban infrastructure. Together, these indicators provide a more comprehensive assessment of the actual level of safety and living conditions in each city.
