Esin Acar Ergin, Head of the representative office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Uzbekistan, has met with Uzbek Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilhomjon Umrzakov to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation, including training programs for local enterprises in six priority sectors and joint projects supported by TİKA grants.
Founded in 1992, TİKA is Türkiye’s official development agency, operating over 60 offices in more than 60 countries, with projects spanning economy, culture, education, healthcare, and technical cooperation, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
Discussions also focused on energy efficiency, urban development, sustainable water use, and service sector growth.
Capacity-building programs and training courses for ministry staff and affiliated organizations are planned in Tashkent and Ankara later this year. Both sides emphasized their commitment to long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation and systematic implementation of upcoming initiatives.
