Uzbek Athletes Make Powerful Debut with Gold at Asian Youth Games

Uzbekistan’s athletes have made a strong opening statement at the third Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, capturing two gold medals in the traditional sport of kurash (folk wrestling styles practiced in Central Asia).

Otabek Yuldoshboev (under 65 kg) and Durdona Tursunova (under 70 kg) delivered standout performances to top the podium in their respective weight categories, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

In a dominant display, Tursunova defeated her Kyrgyz opponent in the final bout, while Yuldoshboev secured victory over a competitor from Iran with a confident showing.
