A delegation of Uzbek farmers, led by Tulkin Sattarov, Deputy Chairman of the Farmers’ Council and Executive Director of the Farmers Support Fund of Uzbekistan, has paid a working visit to China to study advanced agricultural practices.
As part of the visit, a training seminar titled “Studying China’s Experience in Cotton and Grain Production” was organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China. The event brought together experts from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
During the seminar, Uzbek farmers learned about modern agrotechnologies, high-yield cotton and grain varieties, scientific solutions for efficient water and resource management, and advanced methods of organizing production widely used in China. The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences was highlighted as the country’s leading national center for agricultural research and innovation, while the Beijing Academy focuses on the practical application of research and direct cooperation with farmers.
Upon completion of the training program, participants received certificates, underscoring the educational value of the initiative. Organizers noted that the visit will play an important role in the development of cotton and grain farming in Uzbekistan and in adapting best international practices to local conditions.
The delegation also took part in an international agricultural conference in Beijing titled “New Year - New Entry into Foreign Markets,” which focused on expanding international trade and economic cooperation, promoting farmers’ products abroad, boosting export potential, and introducing modern agrotechnologies. Experts, industry representatives, and investors from various countries discussed innovation, sustainability, and value creation in agricultural production.
In addition, the farmers visited the city of Tai'an, where they explored high-efficiency machinery and modern mulberry cultivation technologies. Special attention was given to resource-saving production methods, digitalization, product processing, and the development of export-oriented value chains.
