Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Australia (based in Singapore), Alisher Kayumov, has officially presented his credentials to Governor-General Samantha Mostyn.
During their meeting, both sides discussed the growing potential of Uzbekistan-Australia relations, touching on political dialogue, trade, education, and scientific cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Mostyn praised the “large-scale reforms” launched under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting Uzbekistan’s progress in public administration, civil society development, and improvements to its investment climate. She also highlighted shared economic interests - from cotton to mining - which open new avenues for innovation and investment.
Tourism was another key topic, with the Governor-General welcoming the recent UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand and pointing to Uzbekistan’s rising appeal for Australian travelers.
Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen the partnership further.
Kayumov, who arrived in Singapore earlier this year, previously presented his credentials to the President of Singapore in April.
