Uzbek Parliamentary Delegation Wraps Up Working Visit to Singapore

A high-level parliamentary delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Speaker of the Legislative Chamber Nuriddin Ismailov, has paid an official visit to Singapore.

Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Affairs Kobul Tursunov was among the key participants, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

During the trip, the delegation explored the workings of Singapore’s Parliament and held a series of bilateral meetings aimed at boosting interparliamentary cooperation.

Singaporean lawmakers praised Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, highlighting the country’s rapid progress and its adoption of legislation that aligns with global standards while advancing national priorities.

The delegation also met with Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who spoke positively about Uzbekistan’s development path. He noted that recent high-level visits - including President Mirziyoyev’s trip to Singapore and former President Halimah Yacob’s visit to Uzbekistan - had significantly strengthened bilateral ties.

Officials say the discussions and agreements reached during the visit are expected to further deepen cooperation between the two parliaments.
