President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met with Brendan Nelson, President of Boeing Global, on the sidelines of his visit to the US, to discuss the deepening partnership between Uzbekistan and the global aerospace leader.
During the meeting, both parties welcomed the long-standing and strategic nature of their cooperation, highlighting Boeing’s key role in the modernization of Uzbekistan’s civil aviation sector, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Particular focus was placed on the timely implementation of a major aircraft supply contract and on plans for expanding long-term collaboration.
The discussions came in the wake of a landmark deal between Uzbekistan Airways and Boeing - the largest aircraft order in the history of the national carrier. Under the agreement, Uzbekistan Airways plans to acquire up to 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, a move set to significantly upgrade its long-haul fleet and enhance its competitiveness on international routes.
The high-level meeting underscored Uzbekistan’s commitment to advancing its transport infrastructure and further integrating into the global aviation network.
