Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has unveiled a comprehensive vision to expand economic opportunities within the Turkic world, advocating for the creation of an industrial alliance among Turkic states, the establishment of a “Turkic Green Corridors” system, and the formation of a “Green Transformation” consortium.
The proposal was announced during Mirziyoyev’s address at the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Gabala, Azerbaijan, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
Further emphasizing sustainable development, President Mirziyoyev called for the establishment of an expert group focused on organic agriculture, alongside efforts to promote a unified brand of Turkic organic products in international markets, aiming to enhance the region’s competitiveness and environmental stewardship.
President Mirziyoyev also announced that the International Forum on Multimodal Transport will take place in Tashkent on November 12.
The president emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration in the transport and logistics sector.
“I am confident that all our transport-related initiatives will be thoroughly discussed at the upcoming International Forum on Multimodal Transport in Tashkent. We look forward to the active participation of national delegations, including transport ministers, heads of major logistics companies and associations, as well as scholars and experts,” he stated.
In his speech, President Mirziyoyev also congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on assuming the chairmanship of the OTS. He expressed strong confidence that the Gabala Declaration, adopted at the summit, would serve as a roadmap for implementing joint initiatives and plans, while contributing meaningfully to the development and prosperity of all member states and their brotherly nations.
Moreover, President Mirziyoyev proposed holding the inaugural meeting of the foreign ministers and intelligence chiefs of the OTS in Samarkand next year.
“The Iranian nuclear program, stability issues in Afghanistan, and the situation in Gaza deeply concern us. Regular meetings of the foreign ministers and intelligence chiefs of OTS member states to conduct detailed analyses of the global situation and make decisions have become necessary. We propose holding the first meeting of the OTS intelligence chiefs next year in Samarkand,” he said.
Mirziyoyev also initiated the idea of the first joint meeting of OTS foreign ministers and intelligence chiefs to coordinate approaches on regional and global security challenges.
