Uzbekistan Advances in Global Rule of Law Rankings

Uzbekistan has strengthened its standing in the World Justice Project’s (WJP) Rule of Law Index, climbing to 81st place among 143 nations, according to the organization's official website.

The index notes that compared to 2024, Uzbekistan has climbed two positions in the table, standing between Guyana and Belize.

The positions of Central Asian countries in the ranking are as follows:

• Kazakhstan - 66th place
• Kyrgyzstan - 104th place
• Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are not included in the ranking.

Countries with the highest levels of rule of law are Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and New Zealand, while Venezuela ranks last.

The index is compiled based on surveys conducted among citizens, legal professionals, and experts in the field.

It also takes into account factors such as the state of government powers, absence of corruption, transparency of government institutions, respect for fundamental rights, order and security, law enforcement practices, and civil and criminal justice procedures.
