Uzbekistan has been ranked the second-most attractive country in Central Asia for relocation, according to the Global Relocation Index 2026 published by consulting company Rumavi.

The index does not measure the number of migrants living in different countries. Instead, it assesses the conditions countries offer for people considering relocation and seeking a comfortable quality of life, uz24.uz reports.

Uzbekistan scored 59.9 points, placing 110th among 192 countries and territories worldwide and second in Central Asia.

Rumavi assessed countries across 24 criteria, including financial and tax systems, safety and stability, quality of life, public health, and opportunities for adapting to a new environment and pursuing further development.

The ranking also considered the cost of living, tax rates, healthcare quality, security, climate, digital infrastructure, education, visa requirements and opportunities to obtain residency or another legal status.

Kazakhstan recorded the strongest result in Central Asia, scoring 62.9 points and ranking 77th globally.

Uzbekistan followed in second place in the region with 59.9 points.

Kyrgyzstan ranked third in Central Asia with 59.3 points, placing 118th globally. Turkmenistan scored 52.3 points and ranked 155th.

Estonia was named the world’s most attractive destination for relocation, scoring 72.8 points.

Singapore and Malaysia took second and third place, respectively.

Portugal, Taiwan, Lithuania, Hong Kong, Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Czech Republic and Malta also made the global top 10.
