Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 21.

During the call, Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated Putin on the successful elections to the State Duma and wished the newly elected parliament productive work, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uza.uz.

The two leaders discussed ways to further deepen the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia in line with agreements reached at the highest level.

They emphasized the importance of successfully holding the upcoming meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Regions, as well as the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Russia.

The sides also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.
