Uzbekistan Among the Top 25 Safest Countries Worldwide

Uzbekistan has earned recognition as one of the safest countries worldwide, securing a safety index score of 73.4 out of 100.

This places it among the top 25 safest nations, both globally and within the Central Asian region, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The global database Numbeo has publishes its 2025 ranking of the safest countries and territories in the world.

Numbeo calculates two metrics - the Crime Index and the Safety Index - based on user-submitted responses. These responses assess perceptions of crime levels, safety during the day and night, risk of theft, assault, harassment, and the severity of property and violent crimes.

The indices range from 0 to 100, with a higher Safety Index indicating a safer country.

Uzbekistan placed 25th in the global ranking, scoring 73.4 on the Safety Index. Other Central Asian countries included in the list are Kazakhstan, ranked 73rd with a score of 54.4, and Kyrgyzstan, ranked 101st with a score of 48.

Uzbekistan’s Crime Index was 26.6, which is classified as a low level of crime.

The United Arab Emirates topped the list of safest countries, followed by Andorra in second place and Qatar in third. The most dangerous countries according to the ranking were Haiti, Papua New Guinea, and Venezuela.

It is important to note that the data is based on respondents’ subjective perceptions rather than official government statistics.
