Kazakhstan is ramping up preparations for the upcoming visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Turkistan.
Erdoğan will pay a state visit to Astana on May 13-14 at the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
The two leaders are expected to discuss the current state and future prospects of Kazakhstan-Türkiye relations, while also holding the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries.
On May 15, Turkistan will host the Informal Summit of the leaders of the Organization of Turkic States, bringing together heads of state from across the Turkic world.
Akorda has already released footage showing large-scale preparations underway for the major diplomatic gathering.
This year’s summit will focus on “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development,” highlighting growing cooperation among Turkic states in technology and innovation.
The summit comes shortly after environment ministers of the Organization of Turkic States adopted a joint declaration during their second meeting in Astana.
