A major corruption network involved in sending workers to South Korea has been uncovered in Uzbekistan.
The group included former employees of the External Labour Migration Agency, private employment agencies, and other intermediaries. Through a series of fraudulent and corrupt schemes, they earned around $45 million, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Uzbekistan.
Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating complaints from more than 600 victims who were promised jobs in South Korea but were never sent abroad.
A criminal case has been opened against the group.
