A new direct air route between Kazakhstan's Almaty city and South Korea's Busan city is set to launch on May 1, opening fresh opportunities for travel and economic cooperation.
The flights will be operated twice a week by EasterJet, directly linking Kazakhstan’s largest city with South Korea’s main port hub, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The new connection is expected to strengthen tourism, business ties, and cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and South Korea.
Interest from South Korean travelers in Almaty has been steadily rising. More than 23,000 visitors from South Korea traveled to the city last year - a 15.3% increase compared to the previous year.
The route will further position Almaty as a regional tourism hub while supporting growing trade and investment links between the two countries.
The launch also comes as Kazakhstan continues to expand its international air network, including new connections with Armenia.
