Uzbekistan and Russia's Leaders Hold Telephone Conversation

On August 17, a phone conversation was held between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

The parties discussed current aspects of the international and bilateral agenda, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.

The President of Russia informed the Leader of Uzbekistan about the main results of the Russia - United States Summit held on August 15 in Anchorage.

Supporting the agreements reached, the President of Uzbekistan expressed hope for a speedy settlement of the situation around Ukraine.

The parties also considered issues of adopting coordinated measures aimed at maintaining the current dynamics of trade and economic cooperation and accelerating the implementation of priority cooperation projects between enterprises of Uzbekistan and Russia. The importance of continuing active contacts and exchanges at all levels was emphasized.
