Uzbekistan Boosts Ramadan Support for Needy Families

Uzbekistan will allocate more than 1 trillion soums ($81.709 billion) to support vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadan, as part of a nationwide initiative focused on compassion, unity, and social solidarity.

The funds will be used to provide one-time financial assistance to families in need, as well as to cover medical treatment and surgical expenses for people with disabilities, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The support program is being implemented under the slogan “Ramadan - a month of mercy, unity, and gratitude.”

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness in distributing aid, stressing that assistance must reach all eligible citizens regardless of religion, nationality, or social background.
