Uzbekistan and China are moving closer to expanding cooperation in the mining sector following high-level talks.
R. Yusupov, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with senior ministry representatives, held a videoconference with executives of China Coal Resource Development, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
During the meeting, the Chinese side expressed strong interest in launching joint long-term projects, including the modernization of existing production facilities and the expansion of mining volumes. The discussions highlighted opportunities to combine technological expertise with Uzbekistan’s resource potential.
The parties agreed to prepare specific project proposals and feasibility studies to support the planned initiatives and to continue negotiations on the terms and formats of future cooperation, signaling a potential boost to bilateral engagement in the mining and geology sector.
