Uzbekistan, Egypt Deepen Spiritual, Educational Cooperation

Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva has met in Cairo with Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Egypt and leader of the Al-Azhar Islamic Center to discuss expanding Uzbekistan-Egypt cooperation in spiritual, scientific, and educational fields.

Mirziyoyeva conveyed warm greetings from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the start of the talks, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The sides highlighted the centuries-old historical and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Egypt, noting the key role of Al-Azhar in promoting enlightened Islam, nurturing tolerance, and safeguarding young people from radical influences.

The meeting also focused on developing joint academic programs, research initiatives, and studies of ancient manuscripts and Islamic heritage. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and launching new humanitarian projects.
