Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has proposed hosting a World Youth Climate Forum in Uzbekistan in 2027, aiming to boost global youth engagement in tackling climate change.

The initiative was announced at the RES 2026 Summit in Astana, where Mirziyoyev highlighted the growing role of young people in shaping the environmental agenda, The Caspian Post reports via the Uzbek president's website.

Additional initiatives include launching waste processing facilities capable of recycling up to 5.5 million tons of waste per year and generating 2.2 billion kWh of electricity.
