Uzbekistan, Finland Ink Comprehensive Package of Bilateral Agreements

Following high-level talks in Tashkent, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb signed a Joint Statement affirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

In the presence of both leaders, a ceremony was held to sign a substantial package of bilateral documents, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The agreements cover a wide range of areas, including the development of trade and economic relations, cooperation in mineral extraction, collaboration in geological sciences and exploration, as well as joint efforts in the search for mineral resources, groundwater, and mining. The documents also outline plans to promote digital transformation, innovation, and digital connectivity.

Further areas of cooperation include social protection, the introduction of a digital educational platform into preschool and school education, and enhanced collaboration in education, science, and innovation. The two sides also agreed to strengthen scientific and educational potential in the fields of digitalization and water resource management, and to expand cooperation on climate change and environmental protection.

The agreements reflect both countries’ shared interest in broadening mutually beneficial partnerships across technological, educational, and environmental spheres.
