Uzbek Ambassador Abat Faizullaev and President of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE) Stavros Kafounis have said that bilateral trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Greece hold significant potential, with 2026 seen as a year of opportunities for Greek businesses.
The discussion highlighted Uzbekistan’s efforts to strengthen international ties and attract investment from the US and EU, as well as the opening of a new Greek embassy in Tashkent, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Faizullaev urged ESEE to facilitate communication channels and sustainable cooperation with the Greek business community. Kafounis noted that current trade levels-Greek exports to Uzbekistan in 2024 totaled $8.41 million, imports $7.55 million-do not reflect the full potential of the two economies.
He emphasized that Uzbekistan’s openness, the active Greek diaspora, and investment initiatives provide new opportunities for expanding business in the coming years.
