Uzbekistan Hosts Roundtable on Sustainable Development, Healthcare, and Geopolitics

The University of World Economy and Diplomacy organized an international roundtable on "Sustainable Development, Healthcare, and Geopolitics."

The event has become a leading platform for dialogue among experts from science, politics, and international organizations, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.

The discussion was attended by prominent international figures, including Armen Sarkissian, the fourth President of the Republic of Armenia, and Professor Kishore Mahbubani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Chairman of the NUS Medical International Council.

Representatives of government agencies and public administration institutions, diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan, as well as leading scientists and experts from Uzbekistan and foreign countries, joined the discussion.

Opening the event, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of UWED Sodiq Safoyev, emphasized the increasing importance of an interdisciplinary approach to solving global challenges of our time. He noted that sustainable development, healthcare, and geopolitics are closely linked and require the united efforts of the international expert community.

The participants discussed in detail the economic, political, and cultural aspects of global change. The focus was on the growing influence of Asian countries, the shifting balance of power on the world stage, and the challenges to the existing global order. The experts discussed the competition of economic and technological models, differences in value approaches, as well as the prospects for constructive interaction and cooperation between East and West in a new historical era.

The holding of this forum within the walls of the UWED has confirmed the university’s status as a leading platform for a meaningful discussion of current issues on the global agenda. The roundtable contributed to the strengthening of interdisciplinary dialogue and the development of practical recommendations for solving complex problems at the intersection of economics, politics, and healthcare.
