Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov has met with Kyrgyz Deputy Minister for Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Samat Nasirdinov during the second UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) to discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
The talks focused on expanding collaboration in potato cultivation, a key area for both countries. Additionally, the officials explored opportunities for increasing the import of livestock products from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Importantly, the Kyrgyz delegation offered practical support for the logistics and transportation of livestock from Mongolia to Uzbekistan, aiming to streamline supply chains between the nations.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the “Garden of Friendship” initiative, a symbolic project representing the close neighborly relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. They agreed to implement this initiative following a mutually agreed timeline.
