Uzbekistan Marks Progress in WTO Accession by Finalizing Talks with Switzerland

Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan on WTO Issues Azizbek Urunov has said that Uzbekistan successfully completed bilateral market access negotiations with Switzerland, a key milestone in its ongoing effort to join the World Trade Organization (WTO).

“In Geneva, we signed the protocol confirming the conclusion of market access negotiations with Switzerland, adding another WTO member to the list of countries with which we have finalized talks,” Urunov said, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

He highlighted that negotiations are still underway with only a few remaining WTO members.

So far, Uzbekistan has wrapped up negotiations with 25 countries, significantly advancing its path toward full WTO membership.
