Uzbekistan and Mongolia have agreed to collaborate on wool processing projects, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral economic and industrial ties.

The agreement follows a meeting at the UzCharmsanoat Association with a Mongolian delegation led by officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, implementing investment projects, and developing joint training programs for specialists in collaboration with Uzbek enterprises.

During the visit, the Mongolian delegation was briefed on Uzbekistan’s investment climate, including the availability of raw materials, tax incentives, and customs privileges for foreign investors. It was also confirmed that the delegation will take part in the UzCharmExpo-EurAsia-2025, an international exhibition scheduled for October in Tashkent.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed following the negotiations. The agreement provides for the establishment of yarn production from Mongolian sheep wool in Uzbekistan, along with a raw material base and facilities for manufacturing finished products for the Gobi brand and other international companies.

The partnership is expected to open a new chapter in wool processing and related product manufacturing, creating growth opportunities for the textile industries of both countries.
