Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited Bostanlyk District in Tashkent Region to review the “Renaissance” children’s educational and recreational camp, part of Uzbekistan’s national efforts to advance education and youth development.
Education and youth initiatives have been elevated to state priorities in recent years, with 14 Presidential Schools, 201 specialized schools, 2 sports schools, and 9 creative schools established, alongside the implementation of their teaching and assessment systems in 1,500 additional schools, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Special focus has been placed on preparing talented students for international standards. Last year, a Subject Olympiad Center was inaugurated, and this year an international school opened. A national program was also launched under the president’s initiative to prepare students for admission to Ivy League universities in the US, selecting 1,500 students in 2025 with guidance from 208 mentors from Presidential and specialized schools.
The “Renaissance” camp, hosting 500 students, plays a central role in this system. Students participate in intensive three-week programs, with the top 40 set to attend Ivy League universities for experience exchange. Camp facilities include modern academic buildings, residential blocks, a hotel, cafeteria, and sports areas. Participants include Olympiad winners, holders of international language certificates, and children from socially vulnerable families.
During the visit, President Mirziyoyev inspected campus facilities, student projects, laboratories, STEAM classrooms, and creative workshops. He also met with the leadership and graduates of the “New Uzbekistan” University, emphasizing the importance of quality education in developing the nation’s future leaders: “The potential, energy, and ambition of our youth are immense. By providing quality education, our children will become leaders in every field.”
In addition, the president was presented with the Al-Khorezmi University campus project, designed to further nurture youth talent. He instructed that its implementation be carried out to the highest quality standards.
