Seismologists Confirm Earthquake in Uzbekistan’s Navoiy Region

The Seismological Monitoring Center under the Uzbek Ministry of Emergency Situations has announced that an earthquake was recorded in Uzbekistan with its epicenter in the Kanimekh District of the Navoiy Region.

The quake measured 3.9 in magnitude, with tremors at the epicenter reaching a strength of 4 on the local intensity scale. The epicenter was located 363 kilometers southwest of the capital, Tashkent, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The seismic activity was also felt in nearby areas. In Gijduvan District, located 23 kilometers from the epicenter, the tremors reached an intensity of 3, while in Kanimekh and Navbahor Districts, 57 kilometers away, the intensity was measured at 2.

Authorities have not reported any casualties or significant damage following the earthquake.
