Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtayev met with the Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Zubair Motiwala.
The parties discussed the issues of enhancing mutual trade and diversifying the export-import nomenclature, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The conditions and benefits created for foreign investors in Uzbekistan were presented.
At the meeting, new areas for increasing mutual trade were considered, including ensuring the constant participation of the parties in trade and industrial exhibitions held in the two countries, raising awareness of the countries’ products by establishing links between trading houses and creating online platforms where information on all types of products of Uzbekistan and Pakistan is presented.
The Pakistani side noted the success of the industrial exhibition “Made in Pakistan”, organized in Tashkent in June 2024, and thanked the Uzbek side for the assistance provided in holding this event. The head of TDAP invited representatives of Uzbekistan to participate in the FoodAg Manufacturing Show and the 4th Engineering and Healthcare Show, which will be held this year in Lahore.
The parties also discussed further developing trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the city of Karachi and the regions of Uzbekistan and measures to take relations between business communities to a new level.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to exchange detailed information on the dates of international exhibitions and fairs organized in the two countries and on close cooperation to ensure the participation of delegations, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs of business associations of Uzbekistan and Pakistan. In addition, TDAP representatives shared their proposals for establishing air service on the Tashkent - Karachi route.
