Uzbekistan, Qatar Explore New Horizons in Tourism Cooperation

Uzbekistan’s Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev, has recently met with Sheikh Nayef bin Eid Al Thani, Chairman of Retaj Group and Deputy Chairman of the Arab Tourism Development Fund, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

During the meeting, both parties explored prospects for promoting Uzbekistan’s rich cultural, educational, and pilgrimage tourism routes in the Qatari market, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

A key topic was attracting Qatari investment to enhance the country’s tourism infrastructure.

The discussions covered a range of initiatives, including the potential development of international-standard hotels, themed tourist complexes, and the adoption of modern hospitality standards to elevate service quality.

Sheikh Nayef bin Eid Al Thani praised Uzbekistan’s deep cultural and spiritual heritage and highlighted the increasing interest among Qatari tourists in Central Asia. He expressed strong support for fostering closer business ties between tourism sector stakeholders from both nations.

As a result of the talks, the two sides agreed to continue collaboration, pursue joint projects, and promote investment initiatives aimed at stimulating tourism growth and increasing tourist exchanges between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
