Uzbekistan, Qatar Eye Major Projects in Energy, Transport, and Tourism

During a working visit to Doha, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to discuss deepening strategic partnership and expanding practical cooperation across multiple sectors.

At the start of the meeting, President Mirziyoyev congratulated the Emir on the successful Second World Summit on Social Development, highlighting productive exchanges and contacts at various levels, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Bilateral trade between the two countries has surged 45 per cent since the beginning of the year, with leading Qatari companies participating in major investment projects. The leaders focused on strengthening inter-parliamentary, cultural, and humanitarian ties, as well as promoting joint initiatives in green energy, transport, geology, textile industry, tourism, and infrastructure.

The meeting also featured discussions on key international and regional issues, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further expand cooperation.
