Uzbekistan Receives First Shipment of Hyundai Rotem Trains

The first batch of Hyundai Rotem high-speed trains for Uzbekistan has been dispatched from the Masan port in Changwon, South Korea.

The ceremony was attended by an Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, along with South Korean government officials and Hyundai Rotem executives, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The first next-generation train for Uzbekistan’s high-speed rail network, named “Jalaluddin Manguberdi” was built under a contract signed between Uzbekistan Railways and Hyundai Rotem in June 2024.

The shipment marks a significant milestone in Uzbekistan’s project to upgrade and modernize its passenger train fleet.
