The Uzbek Foreign Ministry has issued an official statement addressing rising public concerns regarding the ongoing border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.
The ministry confirmed it is closely monitoring the situation, especially following reports of recent armed clashes along the shared border of the two Southeast Asian countries, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
In its statement, Uzbekistan called on all parties involved to resolve the conflict peacefully, stressing the importance of respecting international legal standards and diplomatic protocols.
According to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Bangkok, no Uzbek citizens have been reported affected by the tensions in Thailand or Cambodia. The situation in Bangkok and popular tourist areas remains stable, with no immediate threats detected for foreign visitors.
Nevertheless, the ministry strongly advises Uzbek nationals to avoid traveling to areas near the Cambodian border.
