Uzbekistan, Russia Boost Cooperation in Tourism Sector

Tashkent has hosted the third meeting of the Uzbekistan-Russia Tourism Subcommission, where both sides noted a steady rise in mutual tourist flows, expanding cooperation between industry organizations, and growing public interest in cross-border travel.

The session was chaired by First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee Jamshid Abdusalomov and Russia’s Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitriy Vakhrukov, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

The event brought together officials, tourism industry representatives, educational institutions, and business communities from both countries.

The sides reviewed progress on earlier agreements, implementation of the 2025-2026 Cooperation Program, and the results of events held as part of the “Year of Uzbekistan Tourism in Russia.”

Following discussions, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding joint tourism products, strengthening educational programs, improving transport connectivity, and boosting joint marketing efforts.

The sides emphasized that deeper tourism cooperation plays a key role in strengthening humanitarian ties and enhancing cultural exchange between Uzbekistan and Russia.
