Exploration well No. 2 has yielded a commercial flow of high-pressure natural gas in the Muynak district of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan.
The well was drilled to a depth of 5,000 meters over 90 days using modern foreign equipment. The work was carried out by specialists from Uzneftegaz Burgilash Ishlari, a subsidiary of Uzbekneftegaz company, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
The company reported that current daily production is about 2.4 million cubic meters of natural gas.
“Drilling operations are also ongoing 24/7 at other promising deep wells. By the end of the year, high-pressure natural gas is expected to be extracted from them as well,” the statement said.
