Uzbekistan Seeks Turkish Investment to Modernize Agriculture

A delegation from the Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture, led by department head Shokhrukh Akramov, has held a series of talks in Türkiye with executives of leading Turkish companies interested in investing in Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.

During meetings in Ankara, the delegation met with the management of Farmer Ziraat, which specializes in agricultural machinery. Discussions focused on the possibility of establishing production facilities in Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Uzbek officials presented Turkish partners with detailed information on the country’s favorable investment climate, existing tax and customs incentives, and state support mechanisms available to foreign investors.

The delegation also met with Muhtesem Torun, Secretary General of the TURKTOB. Talks centered on expanding cooperation in seed production, sharing expertise, and introducing modern technologies into Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.

In addition, discussions were held with Hakki Ekinc Ergunes, Chairman of TARMAKBİR. The sides explored ways to attract Turkish companies working in agricultural machinery, smart agrotechnologies, and drones, as well as the establishment of joint production in these areas.

As a result of the talks, concrete agreements were reached on launching joint projects aimed at developing and modernizing Uzbekistan’s agriculture through the adoption of advanced Turkish technologies-signaling a new phase of cooperation between the two countries in the agro-industrial sector.
