Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, together with a delegation from JSC "Uzbek Technological Metals Plant" (TMK), has taken part in the Altai Invest-2025 International Investment Forum, held in Kazakhstan’s East Kazakhstan Region.
The forum served as a major platform for regional cooperation, bringing together high-ranking government officials, business leaders, and international investors to explore opportunities in economic development. Around 50 regional enterprises showcased investment projects in key sectors such as industry, agro-industrial development, energy, and tourism in a large-scale exhibition space, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
A key part of the forum’s agenda included business-to-business (B2B) meetings focused on the future of the mining and metallurgical sectors, technological innovation in processing industries, and avenues for industrial collaboration.
The TMK delegation engaged in high-level negotiations with executives from JSC "KazZinc" and the Ulba Metallurgical Plant. Talks centered on enhancing cooperation in deep processing of raw materials and expanding value-added production within the metals industry.
As a result, the parties reached a preliminary agreement to jointly develop technologies for the extraction and processing of rare and rare-earth elements - including tantalum, niobium, beryllium, selenium, antimony, bismuth, vanadium, titanium, magnesium, tungsten, and molybdenum.
In addition, both sides discussed prospects for joint geological exploration of new mineral deposits, as well as collaboration in the supply of cemented carbide equipment for industrial use.
