Uzbekistan to Launch Central Asia–China Cooperation Hub

Uzbekistan is set to establish a Central Asia-China Secretariat to strengthen regional cooperation.

The new body will coordinate the implementation of agreements, monitor joint projects, and serve as a permanent platform for dialogue between Central Asian countries and China, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The law creating the secretariat was signed by the president of Uzbekistan, based on the goals outlined in the Xi’an Declaration of May 19, 2023.

With the secretariat in place, Uzbekistan aims to play a more active role in regional integration, boost economic, investment, infrastructure, and transport-logistics ties, and increase trade between the countries.
