Uzbekistan’s under-17 national football team secured a 2-0 victory against Côte d’Ivoire in their second friendly match during a UAE training camp.
Muminhon Bakhodirkhonov opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and Kahramon Turgunov sealed the win in stoppage time (90+3), The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Uzbek goalkeeper Nematulloh Rustamjonov also made a crucial penalty save in the 74th minute, keeping a clean sheet.
The team will face Burkina Faso in their next friendly on October 29 as they gear up for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar from November 3-27. Uzbekistan has been drawn into Group J with Paraguay, Ireland, and Panama.
